Getting Ready for the New School Year

The first day of school is August 21st and is coming fast!

To help you prepare we mailed out student schedules and Home Access Information this week.

Home Access is our district site that allows parents and guardians to monitor their students' grades and academic progress throughout the school year. Each parent and guardian has their own login and password to our district Home Access page.

You can access your student's page and schedule here using your Home Access login. If you do not have your login please call or stop by our Main Office.

Also, please remember that your student's summer home packet is due the first day of school along with the parent signature packet. If you should need another copy of either one will be provided for you in our Main Office.

All information regarding dress code and supplies that students will need is listed in the Parent Handbook given out at the end of last year and new student orientation. If you should need another copy please stop by the Main Office and one will be provided for you.

We cannot wait for school to start and hope that this information will help in making that start a successful one!

Everything Parents Need to Know About the PSSA at MMSA

It is that time of year again. April is the month that our students take the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment or better know as the PSSA. Our 5th through 8th grade students take both the Math and English tests, while the Science test will only be taken by our 8th grade students.

Your child's success is our highest priority and to help you prepare the testing dates can be

found here.

Here are some helpful tips to make sure your student does their best on the test:
  • Make sure your student gets a good night's sleep
  • Make sure your student has a nice healthy breakfast
  • Make sure your student attends school each day of testing
  • Make sure your student gets to school on time for testing days
  • Encourage your student to listen to all directions and to ask any questions about anything they are unclear about
  • Encourage your child to relax and put forth their best effort
  • Remind them that their teachers have worked very hard to prepare them, they are ready!
